Brad Pitt has spoken

  • Despite being one of the most recognizable celebrities in the world, Brad Pitt struggles with remembering people’s faces due to a condition called prosopagnosia. Also known as face blindness, the neurological disorder can be genetic or caused by brain injury, and affects a person’s ability to recognize faces, emotions, and even names or genders. Although he hasn’t been officially diagnosed, Pitt has openly discussed his suspected condition, revealing in interviews that it has caused misunderstandings and made others think he’s rude or arrogant.
  • In a 2022 GQ interview, Pitt expressed frustration that “nobody believes” he has the condition, and he first mentioned seeking a diagnosis back in 2013. His attempts to explain his situation often led to further offense, with people misinterpreting his behavior. The condition affects about 1 in 33 to 1 in 50 people and can cause anxiety or depression due to difficulties forming social bonds. Pitt, now 61, admits to avoiding social interactions because of the stress it causes, explaining that he frequently meets people he can’t remember. So, if you ever meet Brad Pitt more than once, don’t take it personally if he doesn’t recognize you.
