Hannah Glass, a 19-year-old college freshman from Wisconsin, tragically passed away after suffering a severe allergic reaction to a brownie that contained roasted peanut flour, which she unknowingly consumed. Just two days after celebrating her birthday, Hannah took a second bite of the brownie on November 5 and soon began experiencing violent symptoms, including vomiting and hives. Despite taking Benadryl, her condition rapidly worsened, leading to an anaphylactic reaction.
Her parents, who lived 45 minutes away, rushed to her dorm, but tragically arrived too late. Hannah collapsed before her EpiPen could be used, and she suffered critical brain damage after her heart stopped for four minutes. Her death serves as a stark reminder of the severe risks posed by food allergies.
