Democrat AGs Exposed After ‘Armed Nurse’ Killed By Border Patrol

The fatal shooting of 37-year-old ICU nurse Alex Pretti by a U.S. Border Patrol agent in Minneapolis on January 24 has sparked intense debate over immigration enforcement, gun rights, and cooperation between federal and local authorities. Reports say Pretti confronted agents during a Department of Homeland Security operation and became involved in a physical struggle before being shot.

Federal officials have defended the agent’s actions, while some protesters argue Pretti was exercising his constitutional rights to free speech and gun ownership. The clash has fueled public disagreement over how those rights apply during enforcement operations.

The case has also drawn attention to political tensions surrounding gun policy. Firearms Policy Coalition spokesperson Rob Romano pointed out that in 2024, several Democratic attorneys general argued there is no constitutional right to carry firearms at protests or political gatherings.

Critics say support for Pretti from some left-leaning voices contradicts those earlier positions, leading to accusations of selective advocacy. Social media users have highlighted what they see as inconsistency from Democrats who typically support stricter gun laws.

Vice President J.D. Vance described the unrest following the shooting as “engineered chaos,” blaming far-left activists and local officials for obstructing federal enforcement efforts.

Republican lawmakers have called for stronger oversight of DHS, ICE, and Customs and Border Protection. Senator Bill Cassidy requested a full investigation, while Representative Andrew Garbarino and others renewed calls for congressional hearings.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz urged the federal government to pull ICE agents from the state, condemning the operations. As protests continue, officials and community groups stress the need for transparency, accountability, and clearer enforcement standards to prevent future tragedies.
