Donald Trump accused of making ‘Photoshop error’ after sharing official Christmas portrait
The White House has released Donald and Melania Trump’s official Christmas portrait for 2025, but the image has quickly drawn attention from critics who believe it may have been digitally altered.
As is tradition, the annual festive photograph shows the President and First Lady surrounded by seasonal decorations. In this year’s image, the couple stand hand in hand inside the entrance of the presidential residence.
Behind them are the presidential seal, large flags, and two elaborately decorated Christmas trees. Donald Trump, 79, and Melania Trump, 55, appear formally dressed, continuing a tradition that dates back decades.
Melania oversaw the White House decorations this year, reportedly incorporating dozens of trees, wreaths, garlands, lights, ribbons, ornaments, butterflies, and even gingerbread into the festive display.
However, online discussion has focused less on the décor and more on Donald Trump’s right hand. Viewers noticed that the photo appears to have been taken earlier in December, when Trump was seen publicly wearing a bandage on his hand.
The couple attended the Kennedy Center Honors around that time, and Trump wore the same outfit—along with a visible plaster on his hand—during that event. In the Christmas portrait, the bandage is missing.
Social media users speculated that the image may have been edited to remove it, pointing out similarities between the two appearances. The White House has been contacted for comment regarding the claims.
