Donald Trump allowed

The U.S. Supreme Court has approved Donald Trump’s controversial use of the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, a law last enforced during World War II, allowing the deportation of foreign nationals deemed threats to national security. The ruling follows Trump’s executive order targeting immigration, which claimed the Biden administration allowed millions of undocumented immigrants into the country. Although a lower court initially blocked the use of the act, the Supreme Court overturned that decision on the condition that detainees must be given the chance to challenge their deportation in court.

Trump praised the ruling as a win for national security, stating it affirmed a president’s right to protect U.S. borders. Since invoking the law, 137 individuals have reportedly been deported, including alleged Venezuelan gang members. However, data shows that most of the deportees have non-violent records, with only a small percentage accused of serious crimes. Critics argue the move revives a dark chapter in U.S. history, while officials claim many without records may still pose threats due to their backgrounds abroad.
