Donald Trump ‘gave bizarre reason’

Donald Trump has faced multiple accusations of cheating on the golf course, with a particularly strange justification reportedly offered for his behavior. Though Trump has never played professionally, he is an enthusiastic golfer and owns 15 golf courses globally, 11 of which are in the U.S. This week, while addressing backlash over his trade tariff policies, Trump also took time to send well-wishes to players at the Masters tournament. Known for playing with celebrities and sports professionals, Trump has been accused of bending the rules during casual rounds.

One such accusation came from Mark Mulvoy, former managing editor of Sports Illustrated, who played a round with Trump in the 1990s. During a game at Garden City Golf Club, a storm interrupted their match, but Mulvoy later claimed that when they returned to the green, Trump’s ball had mysteriously moved much closer to the hole. When confronted, Trump allegedly said he cheats because others do as well, stating, “I have to cheat just to keep up with them.” Trump, however, denied knowing Mulvoy or ever moving balls on the course, insisting he doesn’t need to cheat.
