Donald Trump had request to meet rejected

US President Donald Trump was recently turned down by professional golfer Richard Bland when invited to a dinner at Trump’s golf resort in Miami. Since his second term began, Trump has spent significant time on the golf course, often playing with stars like Tiger Woods and Bryson DeChambeau. However, Bland declined the invitation, not due to political reasons but because he was too tired after a busy week and a prior late-night event. Bland remarked that he preferred a good night’s sleep over another late dinner, adding that he was likely not missed among the other high-profile guests.

Bland, currently enjoying a career resurgence in the LIV golf circuit, credits his improved form to playing with his longtime friend, former Southampton footballer Matt Le Tissier. The pair have known each other for over 30 years and frequently play casual rounds, often with small bets involved. Bland, a lifelong Southampton fan, appreciates Le Tissier’s skill, noting that his friend’s single-digit handicap has even cost him some money over the years. As Bland prepares to compete in the US PGA Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina, he hopes his practice with Le Tissier will translate into success on the course.
