Donald Trump ignites outrage with most ‘hateful’ comment yet

On July 3, former President Donald Trump’s controversial “One Big Beautiful Bill” passed narrowly in Congress with a 218–214 vote. While it brings significant tax breaks, defense spending, and border policy changes, critics argue it harms the environment, social programs, immigration rights, and worsens the national debt.

Despite the backlash, Trump drew even more criticism during a speech in Des Moines, Iowa, where he openly expressed his disdain for Democrats. His remarks quickly went viral, with many labeling them divisive and immature.

Trump told the crowd, “They hate Trump, but I hate them too… I really can’t stand them. Because I believe they hate our country.” The statement sparked outrage online, with users accusing him of being unfit to lead and incapable of representing all Americans.

One critic called him a “small, hateful man,” while another questioned how a president could so openly express hatred for half the population. Many said such behavior is unbecoming of a leader.

Commenters on social media highlighted that a president should unite the country, not deepen divisions. Several called his remarks “reprehensible” and said they show he lacks the temperament to govern.

The bill itself includes a $4.5 trillion extension of the 2017 tax cuts, heavily benefiting the wealthy. It also slashes over $1 trillion from Medicaid and imposes stricter work requirements for welfare, potentially cutting coverage for millions.

Additionally, billions are allocated for border fencing, ICE funding, and military projects, with experts warning the bill could increase the national debt by up to $4 trillion in the next decade.
