Donald Trump shares why he doubts he’ll reach heaven

Former President Donald Trump recently expressed doubts about his chances of reaching heaven, making the comments while speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One.

The 79-year-old was en route to Israel following the release of the last 20 hostages held by Hamas in Gaza for two years. The release was part of a significant peace deal between Israel and Hamas.

Trump celebrated the hostages’ return, noting they were handed over in two groups to the International Committee of the Red Cross. The ceasefire also included a deadline for the release of deceased hostages.

He highlighted Israel’s military actions, stating that as part of the “first phase” of the peace plan, Israeli forces now control 53% of Gaza.

During the flight, reporters asked Trump about his previous comments on reaching heaven. Back in August, he had said helping thousands of people each week might improve his chances of making it there.

After the Israel-Hamas deal, Trump joked, saying he wasn’t sure he would get to heaven but emphasized that he had “made life a lot better for a lot of people.” He previously encouraged supporters to donate via emails titled “I want to try and get to heaven,” referencing his survival of a July assassination attempt.

Trump also criticized President Joe Biden’s administration, claiming that a “rigged” 2020 election contributed to the Ukraine war and complicated peace negotiations. Overall, Trump combined reflections on his spiritual fate with updates on global crises, portraying his actions as part of a broader mission to help people, even if he doubts his own celestial reward.
