Donald Trump slammed after hanging plaques mocking Obama and Biden in White House
The White House has recently updated its West Wing “Walk of Fame,” drawing attention for sharply critical portrayals of several former U.S. presidents, particularly Donald Trump’s immediate predecessors.
Earlier this year, Trump’s team installed black-and-white portraits of past presidents along the previously empty hallway. The display first raised eyebrows when Joe Biden’s image was replaced with a picture of an autopen, reflecting Trump’s long-standing claims about Biden’s use of the device.
The latest update added metal plaques beneath each portrait, intended to summarize each president’s legacy. According to the White House, many of the descriptions were written by Trump himself, giving the collection a highly personal tone.
Barack Obama’s plaque labels him as one of the most divisive presidents in history, criticizing his healthcare policy, economic record, foreign affairs decisions, and accusing his administration of harming businesses and misusing federal agencies.
Joe Biden’s plaque is even harsher, branding him “Sleepy Joe” and calling him the worst president in U.S. history. It attacks his election victory, handling of inflation, border policy, Afghanistan withdrawal, and global security issues.
In contrast, Republican presidents such as Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon received praise. Reagan was celebrated for his communication skills and popularity, while Nixon was commended for his political comeback. Gerald Ford was also praised for pardoning Nixon.
Trump’s own plaque highlights his return to office as historic, portraying his presidency as a “Golden Age of America.” Critics, including politicians and public figures, have condemned the display as petty, inappropriate, and damaging to presidential legacy.
