Elon Musk reveals ambitious plans for future
Elon Musk has announced he is stepping down as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an unofficial role he took on under President Donald Trump’s administration. Musk, who became close to Trump during the election campaign, donated \$288 million to his campaign and spent his time in office cutting government spending. In his resignation post on social media, Musk thanked Trump and said DOGE’s mission would continue to grow stronger. However, Musk expressed disappointment with the administration’s new “Big, Beautiful Bill” budget, saying it actually increased the deficit instead of reducing it, undermining the DOGE team’s efforts.
With his resignation behind him, Musk is turning his focus to SpaceX and ambitious plans for Mars colonization. He recently shared that SpaceX will launch its first crewed mission to Mars next year using a Tesla robot, and plans to send humans within two years if all goes well. Initial missions will focus on building infrastructure to support a small group of settlers. Musk stressed that having two self-sustaining planets is crucial for the long-term survival of civilization and hinted at future plans to explore the Asteroid Belt, Jupiter’s moons, and even other solar systems.
