Elon Musk slammed

Elon Musk is facing backlash for a joke he made during a recent cabinet meeting with President Donald Trump. Appointed head of the newly formed, unofficial Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Musk has stirred controversy for his close ties to the Trump administration despite being an unelected advisor. His involvement has prompted public criticism, boycotts of Tesla, and even vandalism at showrooms. In a viral video from a cabinet meeting reviewing Trump’s first 100 days, Musk drew attention by wearing two hats — a red one reading “The Gulf of America” stacked on a black one — referencing Trump’s attempt to rename the Gulf of Mexico.

During the meeting, Trump praised Musk’s quirky fashion choice, saying, “I love the double hat.” Musk responded with a pun: “They say I wear a lot of hats and it’s true, even my hat has a hat.” The joke fell flat online, with many social media users labeling it awkward and unfunny. Critics mocked Musk for his perceived desperation to be humorous, calling him “insufferably lame” and saying his wealth hasn’t bought him a likable personality. This is not the first time Musk’s White House attire has drawn ridicule, often appearing in pro-Trump gear during public appearances.
