Elon Musk’s neighbor reveals
Living next to Elon Musk isn’t all luxury, according to his neighbor Paul Hemmer, who has spoken out about the billionaire’s controversial compound near Austin, Texas. Hemmer claims Musk’s residence, which he calls “Fort Knox,” violates zoning laws and has subjected him to constant surveillance. He alleges Musk’s security team falsely accused him of being naked, though he insists he was wearing black underwear on his own property. Cameras even caught him urinating while walking his dog, which Hemmer found invasive. In response, he flew a drone over Musk’s property to document zoning issues.
Local residents filed formal complaints after Musk moved in back in 2022. Concerns include a 16-foot chain-link fence, which exceeds local height limits by 10 feet, and outward-facing security cameras. Neighbors are also frustrated by increased traffic and employees parking on the streets. The West Lake Hills Zoning and Planning Commission ruled in favor of the residents, arguing that exceptions would set a bad precedent. The city council is set to review the matter on May 14, and Musk could be forced to remove installations that violate regulations.
