Erika Kirk and JD Vance’s hug

Erika Kirk, widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, is continuing her late husband’s work following his tragic assassination at Utah Valley University last month.

Now CEO of Turning Point USA, Erika recently hosted a “This Is the Turning Point” event at the University of Mississippi on October 29, where Vice President JD Vance was a featured speaker.

Introducing Vance, Erika described him as “a very dear friend” and noted that she saw “some similarities” between him and her late husband, highlighting their shared values and vision.

Their on-stage embrace, during which Erika placed her hand on the back of Vance’s head, drew significant attention online, generating reactions that ranged from supportive to critical.

During his address, Vance spoke about his Christian faith and expressed hope that his wife, Usha, who was raised Hindu, might one day embrace the same beliefs.

Despite the emotional weight of the day, Erika emphasized her dedication to continuing Charlie Kirk’s mission and advancing the organization he founded.

The event reinforced her commitment to preserving her husband’s legacy while bringing together supporters and leaders to carry forward Turning Point USA’s goals.
