Erika Kirk hits back at trolls ‘laughing’ over and justifying Charlie’s death

Erika Kirk has spoken out against people who mocked the death of her husband, far-right activist Charlie Kirk.

Kirk, known for his controversial positions on civil rights, immigration, reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ issues, and gun laws, was fatally shot on September 10, 2025, during a Q&A at Utah Valley University.

His killing sparked intense national reaction, with many mourning while others responded with hostility due to his polarizing influence. Turning Point USA — the organization he co-founded — held a major memorial where President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Erika all delivered remarks.

In an emotional interview with CBS News, Erika condemned those celebrating the shooting. She said people who laughed at the footage of her husband’s death were “sick,” adding: “He’s a human being… Tell that to my 3-year-old daughter.”

She criticized the dehumanizing effect of the internet, saying anyone who thinks her husband “deserved” to die needs spiritual help, and she prayed for them despite their cruelty.

After his death, Erika stepped into the role of CEO of Turning Point USA and pledged to continue Charlie’s mission. The organization vowed publicly that his work would not be destroyed but strengthened in his absence.

Authorities arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson two days after the shooting. He now faces multiple charges, including aggravated murder, firearm offenses, witness tampering, and committing violence in front of a child. Prosecutors have announced their intent to pursue the death penalty. Robinson is being held without bail.
