Erika Kirk shares ‘ultimate blessing’ final wish when she learned husband Charlie died
Erika Kirk has shared an emotional message for young couples following the death of her husband, conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Charlie was shot and killed on 10 September while speaking at an outdoor event at Utah Valley University during The American Comeback Tour. Police arrested Tyler Robinson two days later on suspicion of murder.
Soon after his death, Erika delivered a heartfelt address from Turning Point USA’s headquarters, saying her husband’s voice and legacy would continue. She thanked first responders and expressed how deeply Charlie loved both his children and her.
Erika has now revealed that, at the time Charlie was shot, she had been praying she might be pregnant. The couple already shared a three-year-old daughter and a one-year-old son. She previously said their daughter keeps asking where her father is.
During a live interview with Megyn Kelly on 20 November, Erika explained that they had always hoped to have four children. She said she believed a pregnancy would have been a “blessing” in the midst of tragedy.
Because of this, Erika now tells young couples not to delay starting families, especially women, insisting careers can be returned to later, while the window for having children is limited.
She expressed gratitude for the children she does have, and Kelly told her that one day they will understand the meaning of being Charlie Kirk’s children. Erika has also said she told her daughter that her father is on “a work trip with Jesus” to help pay for her “blueberry budget.”
