Expert claims these four foods
Longevity expert Dan Buettner, known for studying “Blue Zones” where people commonly live past 100, has shared tips for a longer life. Unlike some who focus on biohacking to slow aging, Buettner emphasizes avoiding specific foods in the home. Blue Zones are areas where residents have higher life expectancies, such as Loma Linda, California. Buettner believes that keeping four foods out of the house can help people live longer: processed meats, sugar-sweetened drinks, salty snacks, and packaged sweets. He explains that processed meats are linked to cancer, sugary drinks contribute to obesity, salty snacks are high in empty calories, and packaged sweets can lead to weight gain and diabetes.
Buettner advises against storing these items at home, though he acknowledges that occasional indulgence outside the house is fine. Health experts support his stance, noting that processed meats are carcinogenic, sugary drinks are the top source of added sugars, and salty snacks lack essential nutrients. While enjoying these foods occasionally is acceptable, Buettner suggests not keeping them at home to reduce temptation and promote healthier eating habits.
