Expert warns of devastating impact Trump’s proposed recipe change of Coca-Cola could have on US

Former President Donald Trump has proposed a major change to Coca-Cola’s recipe, which could significantly impact the U.S., experts warn. Trump, known for his love of Diet Coke, claimed he has convinced Coca-Cola to switch from high-fructose corn syrup to real cane sugar in its American products.

Posting on Truth Social, Trump announced that Coca-Cola had agreed to the change after his discussions with company leaders. He praised the decision, saying, “It’s just better!”

Trump’s push aligns with broader health efforts led by figures like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who argue that cane sugar is a healthier alternative. The initiative, called Make America Healthy Again (MAHA), supports replacing corn syrup in foods and drinks.

While some health advocates support the move, industry insiders warn it would create major challenges. Ron Sterk, an expert at SOSland Publishing, explained that corn syrup has long been used due to its lower cost compared to cane sugar.

Switching sweeteners would also affect Coca-Cola’s production labels and supply chains, potentially increasing manufacturing costs and leading to higher prices for consumers.

Additionally, the Corn Refiners Association warned of a negative impact on U.S. agriculture. Removing high-fructose corn syrup from products could cause corn prices to fall, leading to a $5.1 billion drop in farm income and job losses in rural areas.

Despite Trump’s announcement, Coca-Cola has not confirmed the switch, only stating they appreciate Trump’s enthusiasm and will reveal more about future product innovations soon.
