FAKE CONFESSION: 71-YEAR-OLD MAN CLAIMS HE SHOT CHARLIE KIRK TO “DISTRACT POLICE”

A 71-year-old Utah resident, George Zinn, falsely confessed to shooting conservative activist Charlie Kirk, authorities reported.

Police said Zinn shouted at officers, “I shot him, now shoot me,” but he was unarmed when confronted.

Investigators quickly determined his claim was untrue, and Zinn later admitted he lied.

According to officials, he confessed in an effort to “distract from the real killer” and cause disruption.

Zinn, described as a longtime political provocateur, now faces charges of obstruction of justice.

Meanwhile, the actual suspect in Kirk’s killing has been identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson.

Robinson was arrested after a manhunt, persuaded by his father to turn himself in, and is linked to the crime through FBI DNA evidence found near the scene. He is under close watch in jail while awaiting a mental health evaluation.
