FBI: Recovered Glove Appears To Match One Worn By Suspect In Doorbell Video

A glove discovered near Nancy Guthrie’s residence may correspond to the gloves worn by a masked figure captured in FBI-released doorbell footage, according to reports citing federal officials.

During searches around the property, investigators recovered several gloves. Authorities determined most had been discarded by search teams and were not considered evidence.

One glove, however, drew particular attention. The FBI said it contains a DNA profile and differs from the others collected in the area.

Officials noted the glove appears consistent with what the individual in the surveillance video was wearing, though final forensic confirmation is still pending.

The search for Guthrie has now entered its third week, with investigators reviewing thousands of tips but announcing no suspects or arrests so far. Authorities say more than 18,000 tips have been received, including thousands after doorbell images of an armed person were released.

Law enforcement activity recently increased near her Tucson-area home, including a court-authorized search and a separate traffic stop questioning, but neither led to an arrest. Investigators have also identified DNA from an unknown person at the property and are working to determine its source.

Guthrie, 84, was last seen the night of Jan. 31 after being dropped off at home. She was reported missing the next day when she failed to attend a planned church viewing, and the investigation remains ongoing.
