Former US Attorney Jessica
Local police in Alexandria, Virginia, were called to a home on Beverly Drive around 9:18 AM after a woman was found unresponsive. Authorities later confirmed that the woman, identified as Jessica Aber, was deceased. The case is under investigation, but sources told ABC News that her death appears to be from natural causes, likely linked to a longstanding medical issue. Aber, who served as the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia from October 2021 until January 2025, led a team of 300 prosecutors. She began her legal career in 2009 as an assistant U.S. attorney, handling cases involving financial fraud, public corruption, child exploitation, and violent crimes.
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi and U.S. Attorney Erik Siebert expressed their condolences, describing Aber as an extraordinary leader, mentor, and prosecutor. Bondi called her loss “deeply tragic,” and Siebert said her impact as both a professional and a person was unmatched. Aber graduated from William and Mary Law School in 2006 and had a distinguished career before stepping down in January 2025. She will be remembered for her dedication and contributions to the legal field.
