Freddie Mercury’s secret child ‘revealed’ over 30 years

A new biography titled Love, Freddie, set to release in September 2025, claims that Queen singer Freddie Mercury fathered a secret daughter in the 1970s. According to author Lesley-Ann Jones, the child was born in 1976 from an affair Mercury had with the wife of a close friend. The woman, known only as ‘B’ in the book, alleges that Mercury was a devoted father who kept her presence a secret until his death in 1991. She shared with Jones 17 volumes of Mercury’s personal journals, which he left to her as his only child and next of kin. The book includes a letter from ‘B’ describing her loving relationship with Mercury.

‘B’, now 48 and living in Europe, says she chose to reveal herself to clear up decades of speculation and lies about Mercury’s life. The claim challenges public perceptions of Mercury, who is often assumed to have been solely interested in relationships with men. Lesley-Ann Jones, initially skeptical, became convinced of the woman’s authenticity after years of working together, noting that ‘B’ never sought money or attention. This revelation adds a new and unexpected dimension to Mercury’s legacy.
