Groom-to-be, 29
Oliver Holroyd, a 29-year-old from Halifax, tragically died during his stag do in Benidorm just weeks before his wedding. While celebrating with friends and his father at the Funky Flamingo bar on March 22, he suddenly suffered a medical episode and collapsed. The cause of death remains unconfirmed, though it’s believed he fell off a bar stool and hit his head. A fundraiser in his memory is supporting the Stroke Association. Oliver leaves behind a one-year-old son, his fiancée Paige Whitely, and a heartbroken family.
Paige shared a touching tribute on Instagram, describing Oliver as her soulmate, best friend, and the most amazing person she ever knew. She vowed to keep his memory alive for their son, Finley, and thanked him for the nine years they spent together. Oliver’s mother, Karen, also expressed her sorrow on Facebook, calling life unbearable without her son. Friends and loved ones, including one who plans to run the Leeds Marathon in his honor, are rallying to remember Oliver’s kind and loving spirit.
