JD Vance’s wife Usha addresses split rumors after she was spotted without ring following ‘inappropriate’ Erika Kirk hug

Usha Vance has responded to rumors about her marriage after being spotted without her wedding ring in recent public appearances.

She is married to JD Vance, the current vice president of the United States. The couple wed in 2014 and are parents to three children.

The Vances have long been close to Charlie Kirk and his late wife, Erika. Following Charlie’s assassination in September, both JD and Usha have been noticeably supportive of Erika, with Usha even seen holding her hand at times.

JD also attended a Turning Point USA event at Erika’s request. When introducing him, Erika praised the vice president and noted similarities between JD and her late husband, though she emphasized no one could replace Charlie.

Their embrace onstage drew widespread attention. During the hug, Erika placed her hand on the back of JD’s head—an action many online users labeled “odd” or overly intimate. A body language expert also described the gesture as unusually personal and attention-directing.

Shortly after the moment went viral, Usha appeared at Camp Lejeune with First Lady Melania Trump, notably without her wedding band. Her missing ring led to speculation that her relationship with JD was strained.

However, a representative dismissed the rumors, explaining that Usha is a busy mother of three who often removes her ring while doing household tasks and simply forgot to put it back on. Their children are Ewan, 8, Vivek, 5, and Mirabel, 3.
