Joe Biden breaks silence after

Former President Joe Biden has addressed the public regarding his recent prostate cancer diagnosis. On May 18, his office confirmed that Biden, 82, has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, marked by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) and metastasis to the bone. Despite the severity, the cancer is hormone-sensitive, allowing for potential treatment options. Biden took to social media to express gratitude for the support, sharing a photo with his wife, Jill, and their cat, alongside a message acknowledging the widespread impact of cancer. He reflected on finding strength amid challenges, thanking people for their love and encouragement.

Former President Donald Trump also expressed his sympathy, wishing Biden a quick recovery. This is not Biden’s first experience with cancer, as he previously had non-melanoma skin cancers removed and underwent surgery to remove a cancerous lesion from his chest in 2023. In 2021, he had a benign but potentially precancerous polyp removed from his colon. Prostate cancer is the second most common cause of cancer death in men, with around one in eight being diagnosed during their lifetime, although most do not die from it.
