Joe Biden’s daughter shares update from hospital amid cancer fight

Ashley Biden, daughter of former President Joe Biden, has shared a new update on her father’s ongoing cancer treatment.

In May 2025, Biden revealed he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, explaining that he was exploring multiple treatment options.

The diagnosis followed reports of urinary symptoms, which led doctors to discover a small nodule on his prostate. Biden’s office confirmed that the cancer carries a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) and has metastasized to the bone, though it remains hormone-sensitive, allowing for effective management.

Earlier this week, a spokesperson noted that the 82-year-old was undergoing both radiation therapy and hormone treatment as part of his care plan.

Ashley Biden recently shared a heartfelt update from the hospital, showing her father ringing the bell at Penn Medicine Radiation Oncology in Philadelphia, a symbolic tradition marking the completion of a radiation course.

She posted the video and photos on Instagram, writing, “Rung the Bell! Thank you to the incredible doctors, nurses, and staff at Penn Medicine. We are so grateful!” and “Dad has been so damn brave throughout his treatment. Grateful.”

Speaking about his diagnosis earlier this year, Biden said, “It’s all a matter of taking a pill, one particular pill, for the next six weeks and then another one. Well, the prognosis is good… So I feel good.” Fans continue sending prayers and support for his recovery.
