King Charles’ funeral plans have been ‘leaked’

Though King Charles III remains actively fulfilling his royal duties, details of his eventual funeral plans have surfaced, sparking public interest. Despite his current health battles, including ongoing cancer treatment, preparations are reportedly well underway.

The King, now 76, has reportedly included his youngest son, Prince Harry, and his wife Meghan Markle in the funeral plans, along with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. This inclusion is notable given recent tensions within the royal family.

Planning a monarch’s funeral can take decades, involving cooperation between the royal household, police, military, and church officials to ensure a smooth and respectful event.

According to The Telegraph, Prince Harry is expected to walk beside Prince William—by then the new King—during the funeral procession. Harry and Meghan are also likely to participate in the family vigil and play a significant role during the Westminster Abbey service.

Archie and Lilibet may attend both the funeral service and the committal at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, depending on family decisions and their wishes.

Charles reportedly wants a funeral similar to Queen Elizabeth II’s but with eco-friendly touches to reflect his environmental values. He’s also planning a shorter royal mourning period, ending on the funeral day rather than extending beyond it.

Though Harry has previously raised security concerns about returning to the UK, state occasions like this would include full official protection. Buckingham Palace emphasized the plans aren’t finalized and warned against speculation.
