Little Johnny had done terribly on his math test, and his teacher was so concerned that she called home to speak with his dad.
That afternoon, Johnny came home to find his father waiting for him at the door, looking none too pleased. “Why did you fail your math test?” his dad demanded.
Johnny just shrugged and said, “It’s because my teacher isn’t very good.”
Taken aback, his dad asked him to explain. Johnny sighed and said, “On Monday, my teacher told us 3 + 5 = 8.”
“Yes?” his dad prompted.
“Then on Tuesday, she said 4 + 4 = 8, and on Wednesday, she claimed 6 + 2 = 8,” Johnny explained. “If even she can’t decide what equals eight, how am I supposed to figure it out?”
