Major City Gripped By Serial Ki.er

Concerns of a potential serial killer have gripped Austin, Texas, after 38 bodies have been recovered from Lady Bird Lake since 2022. The latest discovery is believed to be a teenage paddleboarder whose body was found near Riverside Drive and South Lamar around 7 a.m. A witness reported the body near the Butler Hike and Bike Trail. The teen had gone missing on Sunday after paddleboarding with his family. He entered the water without a lifejacket and was last seen near an underwater drop-off, where he likely drowned. His kayak was later found with the lifejacket untouched inside.

The string of deaths has sparked speculation, with many questioning whether a serial killer could be responsible. Of the 38 deceased, 30 were men, and about 60% were aged between 30 and 49. Most cases have been ruled accidental drownings, suicides, or drug overdoses, with only one confirmed as a murder. Twelve deaths remain unexplained, fueling public fear and theories about a more sinister pattern. Authorities continue to investigate but have not confirmed any criminal link among the cases.
