Man who traveled to every country in the world
Thor Pedersen, a Danish adventurer who visited every country in the world without flying, has revealed which country was his least favorite. Despite starting his journey in 2013 with plans to finish in four years, obstacles like the pandemic delayed his progress, and he completed the challenge in May 2023 in the Maldives. While he appreciated many countries, Thor singled out Tuvalu as the worst, even though he described its people as nice and the place as beautiful. He argued that foreign money sent to Tuvalu is wasted since climate change will eventually submerge it.
Thor also expressed his disappointment with Vatican City, calling it “a rubbish country.” He criticized it for its lack of accommodations, its policy of closing to visitors at night, and its odd status as a country without children or typical infrastructure. Vatican City, an independent city-state in Rome, is the center of the Roman Catholic Church and the pope’s residence. For Thor, both Tuvalu and the Vatican stand out as low points in his otherwise incredible journey.
