Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton’s relationship has come under the spotlight again, particularly after reports that they clashed over bridesmaid dresses ahead of Meghan and Harry’s 2018 wedding. According to Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” the tension arose because Kate wanted the dresses remade just days before the wedding. Meghan, preoccupied with her father’s issues, delayed responding to Kate’s messages. Despite Meghan telling Kate that the tailor was ready to help, Kate apparently insisted the dresses be fully redone, even bringing in designer Sarah Burton for backup. Harry recalled finding Meghan in tears after the argument, although Kate later sent flowers and a note to apologize.

Interestingly, in their 2017 engagement interview with the BBC, Meghan had described Kate as “wonderful,” with Harry adding that both Kate and William had been “fantastic” in their support. Meghan also admitted that her parents and close friends were initially worried about her joining the royal family, given the sudden media attention. Yet, she said they had never seen her happier.
