Melania Trump made chilling admission about husband Donald’s assassination attempt
One year has passed since Donald Trump survived an attempted assassination during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. On July 13, 2024, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire on Trump from a rooftop using an AR-15-style rifle.
Although Trump was quickly shielded by his security team, one bullet grazed his ear, causing visible bleeding. Tragically, another shot struck an attendee in the crowd, resulting in their death.
Crooks was shot and killed by the Secret Service on the scene. Just weeks later, another man armed with an AK-47-style rifle was arrested near Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, believed to have intended another assassination attempt.
Reports indicate these were not isolated events—Newsweek has claimed that there have been nine total attempts on Trump’s life since his initial presidency began.
Despite these incidents, Trump went on to defeat Democratic opponent Kamala Harris in the 2024 election and returned to the White House in January 2025.
After his re-election, Melania Trump’s emotional comments about the threats her husband has faced resurfaced. In an earlier interview with Fox News, she expressed her distress over the media’s portrayal of him and the dangers he faced during and after his first presidency.
Melania shared her constant worry over his safety, saying she frequently feared what might happen next. Reflecting on the assassination attempts, she admitted that while none of it surprised her, it always left her with a deep sense of fear and anxiety.
