Mystery Figure Spotted Near Utah Campus Before Shooting
A newly surfaced surveillance video has intensified the investigation into the fatal shooting of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. The footage shows a man dressed in black with a noticeable limp near campus just minutes before the attack, leading investigators to name him a person of interest. Federal officials confirmed he entered the university grounds shortly before the shooting.
Earlier that same morning, the same man was captured on camera wearing identical clothing in the same area, further linking him to the scene.
In response, the FBI released still images of the individual and appealed to the public for assistance. Authorities urged anyone with information, photos, or videos to come forward, adding that a \$100,000 reward is being offered for details leading to his identification and capture.
The shooting unfolded during a live campus event, where a single gunshot created panic among the audience. Witnesses described chaos as some attendees fled in fear while others attempted to help those around them.
Although security was stationed near the stage, investigators are reviewing how the shooter managed to bypass existing safety protocols and carry out the attack.
Agents have since recovered critical evidence, including the suspected rifle and forensic impressions from the area. Authorities stressed that even seemingly minor tips could play a key role in identifying the suspect.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Law enforcement has pledged to use all available resources to deliver justice for Kirk’s family and restore a sense of safety on campus, while continuing to urge the public to stay vigilant and report any leads.
