Newly Declassified Records Suggest Adam Schiff Approved Leaks of Classified Information During Trump–Russia Probe

Newly released FBI interview summaries have reignited controversy surrounding Senator Adam Schiff, after a whistleblower alleged he authorized leaking classified information during the Trump–Russia investigation to politically damage then-President Donald Trump.

According to documents obtained by Just The News, the source — described as a Democratic intelligence officer who worked for the House Intelligence Committee — claimed Schiff told staff in an all-hands meeting that the committee would leak classified material “derogatory” to Trump to build grounds for his indictment.

The whistleblower also alleged that Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) likely acted as the main conduit for the leaks, which were aimed at reinforcing the “Russiagate” narrative. Swalwell has denied involvement, questioning the credibility of the claims.

The source further told the FBI that Schiff had been promised the CIA Director role if Hillary Clinton won the 2016 election. After her loss, the role never materialized, but Schiff allegedly remained focused on undermining Trump through leaks. The whistleblower claimed to have witnessed Schiff’s approval of such leaks and said they were fired shortly after reporting concerns to authorities.

Investigative journalist Paul Sperry of RealClearInvestigations suggested Schiff’s leaks may have reached Washington Post reporter Ellen Nakashima, who was reportedly a trusted contact for senior intelligence officials during the early Trump–Russia probe.

It remains unclear whether these declassified records will lead to a formal investigation. Critics argue the Justice Department’s past inaction undermines public trust in oversight.

Schiff has not publicly responded to the new allegations, leaving unanswered questions about the scope and impact of the claimed leaks.
