NFL prospect Kyren Lacy
NFL draft prospect Kyren Lacy, 24, has tragically died in an apparent suicide following a police pursuit. The former LSU wide receiver, who had recently declared for the 2025 draft, fled from police after a family member called 911 during a domestic dispute in which Lacy reportedly fired a gun into the ground. Authorities attempted to stop him, but he drove off, later crashing his vehicle. When officers approached, they found Lacy dead from a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Lacy was also facing legal issues, with a scheduled grand jury appearance related to a fatal crash in December. He had been charged with negligent homicide, reckless driving, and felony hit-and-run after allegedly causing a collision that led to another driver’s death. His father, Kenny Lacy, shared a heartfelt statement urging parents to have open conversations about mental health, stressing the importance of recognizing early warning signs. He described the family’s grief as unimaginable, reminding others to check in on their loved ones’ mental well-being.
