Nine people left fighting for their lives after horrifying knife attack onboard London-bound train

It started as a routine evening trip but spiraled into unimaginable terror.

Passengers on the 6:25 p.m. Doncaster-to-London King’s Cross train were thrown into chaos when a man armed with a knife suddenly began attacking those around him.

Panic spread quickly through the carriages as people screamed and scrambled for safety. Some locked themselves in toilets, while others lay injured and bleeding.

The train made an emergency stop at Huntingdon Station, where armed police rushed aboard to secure the scene.

Ten passengers were taken to hospital, with nine reportedly in critical condition. Two individuals were arrested, and counterterrorism officers are now assisting with the investigation.

Witnesses described scenes of fear and bravery, recalling how strangers tried to shield one another amid the violence. “It was pure panic,” one passenger said.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the attack as “appalling” and “deeply concerning,” commending emergency responders for their quick action. The platform remains cordoned off as forensic teams work overnight to uncover what led to this horrifying event — a tragic reminder of how suddenly ordinary life can shatter.
