Ocasio-Cortez Attacks Trump At Mamdani Rally

AOC Criticizes Trump While Campaigning for Zohran Mamdani

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez spoke out against President Donald Trump during a New York City rally supporting mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, framing the local race as part of a larger national struggle.

At the event, Ocasio-Cortez said Mamdani’s election would represent more than city politics. “This is about child care, rent, and our rights,” she declared. “On Nov. 4, we’ll show the world that Trump’s authoritarianism has no place here.”

She emphasized New York’s broader influence, saying, “We are the rule, not the exception. We set the standard for America — and I’m talking to you, Donald Trump.” The congresswoman called the campaign a movement of ordinary people uniting against corporate power.

Trump has repeatedly criticized Mamdani, warning that if elected, he would “have problems with Washington like no Mayor in history.” On Truth Social, Trump labeled him a “self-proclaimed communist” and claimed he would withhold federal support for the city under Mamdani’s leadership.

A recent Fox News report examined Mamdani’s political rise, noting his connections to left-wing and Muslim advocacy groups. It alleged that his campaign has received significant help from organizations tied to George Soros and activist Linda Sarsour.

Tax records show Soros’ Open Society Foundations gave nearly $2.5 million to groups such as MPower and Emgage, though the foundation denied any involvement in political campaigns.

These groups, along with others like CAIR Action and the Muslim Action Coalition, have backed Mamdani through fundraising, endorsements, and large-scale voter outreach across New York City.
