People left seriously ‘creeped’ out as White House showcase holiday greeting message calling Trump ‘daddy’

A White House holiday message has unsettled many people after referring to President Donald Trump as “daddy.” The unusual term appeared in a festive memo released on December 3.

The cartoon-style graphic shows Trump wearing a Santa hat and giving a thumbs-up in front of a snowy White House. The image would have been a typical holiday greeting if not for the bold red caption: “DADDY’S HOME.” The official White House Instagram page added the caption, “HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS!”

The wording quickly raised eyebrows, especially since “daddy” is commonly used as a sexual or BDSM-related term implying dominance. This made the choice particularly strange for an official government message.

Social media users reacted with discomfort, calling the post “creepy,” “cringe,” and questioning how such wording ended up on an official account. Many left vomiting emojis, while others mocked the decision, saying the administration had reached new levels of absurdity.

The controversy grew as Trump ally Pete Hegseth, Secretary of War, was also criticized for sharing an AI-generated image of children’s character Franklin the Turtle depicted in military gear attacking “narco terrorists.” He promoted it as a Christmas gift idea, prompting online ridicule and parody versions of children’s book covers.

Kids Can Press, the publisher of Franklin, condemned Hegseth’s use of the character, stating that Franklin represents kindness and inclusivity, and rejecting any violent or unauthorized portrayals.

Meanwhile, First Lady Melania Trump unveiled the White House holiday decorations, themed “home is where the heart is,” featuring over 50 Christmas trees, designer ornaments, and a Lego portrait of several US presidents, including Trump.
