People seriously concerned at JD Vance’s ‘strange’ response as he gives update on Trump’s health
Concerns about President Donald Trump’s health have grown in recent weeks, following several public observations and medical disclosures.
Speculation intensified after the president was seen with a large bruise on his hand, which aides appeared to conceal with heavy makeup. Earlier this summer, Trump was also diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), a condition affecting leg veins.
The diagnosis coincided with Trump’s 79th birthday in June, marking him as the oldest president ever sworn into office when he began his term at age 78.
Against this backdrop, Vice President JD Vance was asked whether he was prepared to step in if needed. His response, while emphasizing Trump’s vitality, struck many as unusual.
Vance insisted the president is in “incredibly good health” and highlighted Trump’s energy, saying he works later and rises earlier than much younger staff. He added that his own 200 days of on-the-job training had prepared him for any potential emergency.
While acknowledging that “terrible tragedies happen,” Vance said he was confident Trump would serve out his term. Still, he noted that his experience had readied him should succession become necessary.
The remarks sparked debate online, with some calling his words “strange” or “ominous.” Others viewed the comments as routine succession talk. Meanwhile, the White House physician reiterated that Trump remains “in good health” and fully capable of carrying out his presidential duties.
