Princess Beatrice and Eugenie face awkward Kate Middleton dilemma ahead of Christmas

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie may find themselves in an uncomfortable position this Christmas.

Each December, the Princess of Wales hosts her annual Christmas carol service, an event that is typically broadcast on Christmas Eve.

Many senior royals usually attend, including King Charles III, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and the Wales children—George, Charlotte, and Louis. However, viewers noticed last year that Andrew was absent.

According to Marie Claire, Andrew—now known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor—has never attended the concert and is believed to have never been invited, though his daughters regularly appear.

His royal status has changed significantly in recent months. His prince title was formally removed following ongoing controversy surrounding his ties to Jeffrey Epstein. The Palace confirmed that he would now use the name Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, with earlier actions already stripping him of the Duke of York title.

Broadcaster Neil Sean claimed Beatrice and Eugenie have received personal invitations to this year’s concert but noted they face a challenging decision. Skipping the event could be seen as disrespectful, while attending might trigger intense media attention. Sean also stressed that Kate has full authority over the guest list and aims to present a united royal front during a difficult year.

This year’s concert will take place on 5 December at Westminster Abbey. The Palace shared that the service will blend traditional and contemporary elements, featuring carols, performances, readings, and stories highlighting individuals who foster connection and compassion within their communities.
