RFK Jr Makes Shock Announcement He’s Going To ‘Reveal The Cause Of Autism’ This Month

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., serving as Health and Human Services Secretary under President Donald Trump, has announced plans to present what he claims are the “causes” of autism at a press conference in September. He has suggested autism may be preventable and linked to environmental triggers.

Kennedy first revealed the initiative in April, stating that HHS would investigate autism with the help of “hundreds” of international scientists. Last week, he reaffirmed that the project was progressing and promised findings would be unveiled soon.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a lifelong developmental condition. The CDC reports that roughly one in 31 U.S. children is diagnosed, with boys more frequently affected than girls. It occurs across all backgrounds and communities.

Despite Kennedy’s assertions, major health organizations including the CDC, WHO, and the American Academy of Pediatrics agree vaccines do not cause autism. Large studies have repeatedly disproven any link, and experts emphasize that current scientific evidence does not support Kennedy’s claims.

Kennedy has instead alleged that environmental toxins could be responsible, though CNN Health reported the referenced studies have not yet begun. Disability advocates and scientists have criticized his approach, warning that framing autism as an epidemic or preventable condition is misleading and harmful.

Some academic voices, such as Professor M. Remi Yergeau, argue that Kennedy’s rhetoric dehumanizes autistic people. Critics stress that rising autism rates reflect better diagnostic practices and awareness, not a sudden increase in cases.

While Trump has praised Kennedy’s efforts, medical professionals caution that the press conference could spread misinformation. They urge focus on support services and acceptance rather than speculative causes.
