ROCK STAR SAYS HE’S DONE WITH AMERICA AFTER SUPREME COURT RULING
During a sold-out concert in London, the lead singer of a globally renowned punk band shocked fans by announcing plans to renounce his U.S. citizenship in protest of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
He told the crowd he was “not kidding” and hinted that fans would be seeing much more of him performing across Europe in the future.
The following evening, during another U.K. performance, he continued his criticism, expressing frustration with the direction his home country has taken on reproductive rights.
His outspoken stance came amid a wave of cultural backlash following the landmark ruling, which has ignited debates and protests across the United States.
At the same time, the Glastonbury Festival saw pop star Olivia Rodrigo join the chorus of criticism, directly calling out the conservative justices responsible for the decision.
The festival quickly became a focal point for artists using their platforms to voice political and social dissent, turning performances into acts of protest.
The events highlight how musicians are increasingly engaging with political issues on an international stage, channeling frustration and activism into their performances while amplifying public awareness of the Supreme Court ruling.
