Royal expert reveals

The Princess of Wales was recently seen without her iconic £390,000 engagement ring, a sapphire and diamond heirloom once worn by Princess Diana. The ring was given to Kate by Prince William during their engagement in 2010. In a recent Instagram video marking her fifth year as President of the Scouts, fans noticed its absence. Jewelry expert Ella Citron-Thompkins suggested the decision was likely intentional, aligning with the video’s focus on nature and emotional well-being. Kate may have wanted the message to take center stage, rather than her recognizable ring.

Instead, she wore a more modest eternity ring stack, which Citron-Thompkins said reflects a personal shift following her recent health struggles. After undergoing major abdominal surgery in January 2024, Kate later revealed she had been diagnosed with cancer and has since entered remission. In an Instagram post, she thanked The Royal Marsden for their care and shared her commitment to supporting cancer research in her new role as Joint Patron of the hospital. She expressed hope for the future and gratitude for the support received during her recovery journey, emphasizing the importance of adjusting to a new normal after a cancer diagnosis.
