Shocking data shows

Since Donald Trump began his second term in January, his actions—including over 100 executive orders and a new global trade war—have sparked widespread controversy. One particularly notable moment was when Vice President JD Vance publicly scolded Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a White House visit. These actions have raised questions about whether Trump supporters regret their votes. CNN data analyst Harry Enten examined a YouGov poll addressing this, revealing that only 2% of Trump voters regret supporting him in 2024, with just an additional 1% saying they wouldn’t vote at all.

Enten emphasized that the idea of widespread regret among Trump voters is not supported by the data. Less than 5% of his supporters would consider changing their vote if the election were held again. In contrast, voters for Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party largely remain loyal. Compared to 2017, when 4% of Trump’s original supporters said they would switch votes, the current number is even lower. Enten concluded that talk of regret among Trump’s base is mostly unfounded, with current support levels possibly even stronger than in the past.
