Social Security Announces New Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) Checks – What You Need to Know
Erika Kirk has shared the surgeon’s words about her husband Charlie Kirk’s death, following his assassination earlier this month.
She spoke during Charlie’s memorial on September 21 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, where thousands gathered to honor the 31-year-old Turning Point USA founder.
Charlie had been speaking at Utah Valley University in front of 3,000 people during his “American Comeback” tour when he was shot in the neck. He later died from his injuries, sparking an FBI manhunt.
Authorities arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who has since appeared in court via video link from Utah County Jail. Prosecutors confirmed they will seek the death penalty.
At the memorial, Erika described seeing her husband’s body and noticing small, personal details, such as a single gray hair she had never mentioned to him. She told the crowd that, according to the surgeon, Charlie did not suffer in his final moments.
She recalled seeing a faint smile on his lips, which she interpreted as a sign of God’s mercy. The surgeon reassured her that his death had been instantaneous.
TPUSA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet also addressed the tragedy, noting the unusual detail that the bullet did not leave an exit wound. He explained that the surgeon described this as highly abnormal for such a powerful round, emphasizing that Charlie’s body stopping the bullet was, in itself, a remarkable occurrence.
