Stephen Hawking’s End Of
Before he passed away in 2018, Stephen Hawking warned that humanity might only have about 600 years left if we don’t drastically change. Speaking at the Tencent WE Summit in 2017, he explained that unchecked population growth and energy consumption could eventually turn Earth into a “giant ball of fire,” with electricity use making the planet glow red-hot by 2600. NASA has supported concerns about Earth’s future, highlighting their ongoing research into global risks like those Hawking mentioned.
Hawking also pointed out that while the yearly risk of disaster may be low, over thousands of years it becomes almost certain. He listed global warming, climate change, the greenhouse effect, pandemics, artificial intelligence, and nuclear war as serious threats to humanity’s survival. His predictions remain a sobering reminder of the urgent need for global change.
