Trump Mocks ‘No Kings’ Protests, Says Schumer’s Losing Shutdown Battle

President Donald Trump dismissed the upcoming “No Kings” protests planned for this weekend, taking aim at Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) over the ongoing government shutdown. He criticized Democrats for miscalculating their strategy amid nationwide demonstrations expected to draw tens of thousands of participants.

Organized by progressive groups, the rallies are billed as a defense of democracy, with over 2,500 planned across the country. Many Republicans, however, have labeled the events “Hate America” rallies aimed at undermining the administration.

In a preview clip of his Fox News interview on Sunday Morning Futures, Trump laughed off claims linking the shutdown to the protests and rejected being called a “king.” “Some people say they want to delay it for that,” he said. “A king! This is not an act.”

Trump then criticized Schumer, accusing him of political grandstanding at the expense of Americans. “Chuck is at the end of the line,” Trump said. “He’ll do anything. I think he’s just so dead.” The partial government shutdown continues due to disagreements over spending, immigration enforcement, and foreign aid.

Trump emphasized that the budget standoff allows him to cut programs he says Republicans never supported, including a $20 billion infrastructure project championed by Schumer. “We’re cutting the project,” he stated, without specifying which initiative.

Separately, Trump revealed that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro had “offered everything” to persuade the U.S. to halt military operations against suspected drug-trafficking vessels in the Caribbean.

During a White House meeting with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, Trump bluntly explained Maduro’s efforts, saying he doesn’t want to “f*** around with the United States,” highlighting rising tensions as U.S. forces target narco-trafficking networks in the region.
