Trump seemingly invents new name for Republican party and you’d never guess what it is
Former President Donald Trump hinted at the possibility of running for president again in 2028, while also suggesting a new nickname for the Republican Party.
Trump, currently serving his second term after first being elected in 2016, is barred by the 22nd Amendment from serving more than two terms.
On Saturday, he shared what appeared to be an AI-generated image on Truth Social, showing him holding a sign that read, “TRUMP 2028, YES!”
He has previously spoken about the idea of a third term, telling reporters in October that he believes he is likely not allowed to run again, adding cryptically, “So we’ll see what happens.”
In August, Trump indicated uncertainty about another run, noting his strong poll numbers and emphasizing support for his tariffs, trade deals, and foreign policy.
Alongside the AI image, Trump suggested a new nickname for Republicans: “TRUMPLICANS,” following earlier posts where he played with variations like “TEPUBLICAN” or “TPUBLICAN.”
Trump also discussed his preferred successor, mentioning Vice President JD Vance as a likely candidate, while acknowledging that he expects to serve his full term and hopes a great Republican will carry the party forward. Despite speculation, some, like Representative Andy Ogles, have proposed amending the law to allow a third presidential term.
