Trump Slammed For New ‘Disrespectful’ Comments On Texas Floods Following Remark That Made People ‘Want To Throw Up’

Donald Trump has come under fire for a controversial remark he made during a visit to Texas, where devastating floods have killed at least 129 people and left over 150 still missing.

The floods, caused by an intense burst of rainfall, overwhelmed the region, destroying mobile homes, vehicles, and holiday cabins. The Guadalupe River surged to a deadly 26 feet in under an hour.

Trump visited the disaster zone on July 11, accompanied by his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, for a segment with Fox News’ My View. When asked to offer support to grieving families, Trump sparked backlash with his response.

“There’s nothing worse than losing a child,” he said. “Maybe they should’ve had bells or something go off. But it’s pretty dangerous territory considering how often this happens.”

Later, in Kerrville, Trump elaborated, describing the flood as “the worst anyone has ever seen.” He added that someone claimed the water might have reached 60 feet at one point, comparing the surge to a massive wave in the Pacific that even expert surfers would fear.

Critics on social media slammed Trump’s comments, with one person saying they felt sick after hearing them. Another user accused him of treating the tragedy like “an amusement park ride.”

Former First Lady Melania Trump also addressed victims’ families, offering heartfelt condolences. “We are grieving with you. Our nation is grieving with you,” she said.
