Trump’s vice president has people seriously concerned after they spot worrying detail in his latest post

Vice President JD Vance caused a stir on social media after posting a selfie wearing a red trucker hat with the bold slogan “TRUMP 2028.” He captioned it: “I’ve got an exciting announcement about my political future! #Trump2028,” sparking confusion and concern online.

The hat is not new—it’s sold on Donald Trump’s official website for \$50 and is part of a broader merchandise line that includes a “Trump 2028” shirt for \$36. The description on the site calls the hat a symbol of a “bright” future, though it notably misspells “embroidery” as “emroidery.”

Vance’s post has prompted backlash and skepticism, especially since the U.S. Constitution prohibits any president from serving more than two terms. Trump has already served as the 45th president and is currently the 47th, meaning a third term would be unconstitutional.

Online reactions were swift. One Instagram user sarcastically posted, “Obama 2028,” while others accused Vance and the Trump campaign of disrespecting or outright ignoring the Constitution.

Some commenters suggested the move was trolling or a distraction tactic. Others took it more seriously, calling for political consequences and warning about threats to democratic norms.

Critics pointed out that such messages from officials undermine constitutional principles and could set dangerous precedents. Many were shocked that such a public statement was being treated lightly.

Trump has previously hinted at wanting a third term, despite being constitutionally barred. If he attempted a run in 2028, he would be 82 years old. Still, the 22nd Amendment firmly restricts anyone from being elected president more than twice.
